The Machinist will be required to
have competent knowledge of manual machine operation. Such as milling machines,
lathes, grinders, etc. Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints,
select appropriate tooling for jobs. Be able to manufacture parts from drawings,
design and build necessary fixturing for prototype parts as well as production
parts. The machinist should also be able to utilize CNC equipment such as
lathes, mills, and wire EDM to accomplish all tasks as required. They
shall perform assigned responsibilities, collaborate with team members, and adhere
to company policies. Strong communication, problem-solving, and work ethic
required. Adaptability, initiative, and willingness to learn are valued. The machinist is responsible for all assigned machinery and production activities. Reports
to Lead Machinist.
Primary Duties and
responsibilities described below.
- Programming, setup, and operation of machine
tools
- Make production parts and fixtures within
specified tolerance of blueprints.
- Work with Lead Machinist to prototype
new products.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities.
- Capable of accurately measuring parts (Calipers,
Micrometers, Height Gage)
- Reverse Engineering
- Custom tool design and implementation
- Good working knowledge of tooling. Must be able
to calculate feeds and speeds for effective metal removal.
Preferred skills (Not
required)
- Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology /
Completed working internship.
- Mastercam
- Three years of practical work experience
